Waiuku main street

To find our project for 2017 we asked around in our community what anyone wanted building. The Lions' suggested we talk to the people at Waiuku Museum. James and Jo met Helen along with Mr Robinson, she was so pleased with the idea of a community project because they had been wanting to create a street scene of the shops before the 'great fire' in 1916. She showed us lots of pictures and where they wanted to build the scene in the museum.

After a few more talks we worked out the plan....three shops, a butchers, a barbers and jewelers with the idea being to build them in school and then install in the museum.
