To kick off the new term our group resumed construction of the insect hotel. Our first order of business was to move our stained wood pieces out of storage and sort out the pieces needed for what we wanted to construct, which was the base platform that will hold most of the construction. The finished product was a very solid built platform and were very satisfied with what we accomplished. The next part we marked out the area where our hotel will be placed and then bored out the holes for which the legs will be put down and concreted in. The holes were quite deep so when we finished we had to make sure to cover them up with traffic cones. Next week we will attach the legs to the bottom frame and work from the base upwards with the frame.
