Design Briefing

Fielding High School has been presented with an opportunity to enter a nation ranking competition presented by the one and only B.C.I.T.O New Zealand. The competition alias “The Build-Ability challenge 2014″. This competition has brought many competitors to their knees designing, planning and building many marvelous creations ranging from sandpits all the way to resting/walking areas. The main focus of this challenge is to make the student’s think of new and creative ideas to be on top.

Challenge posed to Fielding high school

We need to design a portable sandpit with the required specifications

  • Portable via a trailer or ute.
  • Maximum weight of 250kg or lifted by 4 people
  • Maximum width of 1.8 meters and length of 2.2 metres
  • Two or more functions
  • A sandpit will be one function
  • Second function is required
